What happens when satellite imagery meets Ruby?

I’ve been experimenting with libgd-gis to explore satellite data (GOES, NASA GIBS) not as static images, but as navigable, zoomable maps — the same mental model we use for cartographic basemaps, now applied to Earth observation.
