To play around with Rails 5 and ActionCable I created a music player app powered by Youtube and Slack. Hosting it is free too, thanks to Heroku.

You and your team members can request videos to be played inside of slack and the player will play them one by one in an orderly fashion.

Whether your team is in the same building or dotted around the globe, everybody can view whats playing by visiting the app in their browser. ActionCable and websockets will keep everybody in sync and automatically play through the playlist.
