With regard to the discussion about Ruby’s slowness, I’d be interested in reading about any experiences ThoughtWorks has had with 1.9.1 and if any performance improvements have been noted.

Also, while reading the article I wondered if many of the statements made about “Ruby” would have been better phrased in terms of “Rails,” since that seems to be their primary development platform.

Yes, I’d be curious to see what they had to say about 1.9.1 as well. I wish the entire ruby ecosystem would push forward to 1.9, but it’s a bit like trying to turn the Titanic.
