roleful is a DSL for your classes that handles roles and permissions. All you have to do is declare your roles, then provide a #role instance method to determine what role(s) an object has. Roleful will then let you know what your object can and can’t do.

The point of it is not to implement something you couldn’t do better yourself. It’s to implement something well enough so you don’t have to think about it.
